JKS Syllabus
(10th kyu to black belt)
The JKS grading syllabus is centrally managed by JKS England and full details are available here on the JKS England website.
This syllabus is for all beginners 16 years and over, and juniors under 16 years of age who have successfully graded from 20th to 10th kyu in the JKS Chester Junior Syllabus outlined below. Please ensure that you understand and have practised all parts of the syllabus for your grading ahead of time. If you have any concerns about the syllabus or grading please talk to your club instructor.
Note that as all gradings are by invitation of your club instructor only, he must consider that you have the potential to pass your grading!
JKS Chester Junior Syllabus
(20th kyu to 10th kyu)
The JKS Chester junior grading syllabus is locally managed by JKS Chester and full details are available here. All students under the age of 16 years must complete the junior syllabus.
Gradings are conducted every 6 weeks throughout the year and are conducted at the dojo. The syllabus is designed to ensure that juniors are thoroughly prepared for the rigors of training and grading in karate within the JKS.
If you have any concerns about the syllabus or grading please talk to your club instructor.
Students are awarded a certificate and a black belt stripe for completion of each kyu rank within the junior syllabus.
